Jul 4, 2010San Diego County Fairgrounds at Del MarGreg was invited back for an encore of 'Facing the Music'. This will be the final day of the 2010 San Diego County Fair. Greg performed to sizable, appreciative crowds on June 26 and was invited back for the July 4th finale. He will give 3 performances at 11:45 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
 
Jul 1, 2010Mario's Place, Mission Inn Ave., Riverside, CAMural - Greg was commissioned by the City of Riverside to create an original painting of a jazz performance that will grace the the exterior of Mario's Place Restaurant. Greg's painting will be reproduced as a 15 ft. by 12.5 ft. print on canvas that will hang on the East side of the building for about 6 months. Mario's is arguably one of Riverside's very best fine dining restaurants and is directly across the the street from the Historic Mission Inn.

Apr 24, 2010National Orange Show, San Bernardino, CACal State San Bernardino's annual Headdress Ball. Greg will perform at this annual gala that is paying tribute to the Beatles with a theme of "Imagine" Can you imagine who Greg will be painting? The finished painting will be auctioned that evening. This event is quite a production with over 100 cast members.
 
Mar 24, 2010Riverside Area Chambers of Commerce event at Riverside Convention Center
3443 Orange St., Riverside, CA 92501		110th Annual Inaugural Dinner Banquet, Riverside Area Chambers of Commerce. Greg was the featured entertainer with his 'Facing the Music' performance painting at this annual event for about 500 guests. The event had an island theme and Greg painted a 6 foot portrait of Jimmy Buffett, accompaned by a soundtrack of Buffett's music. In what was a first for Greg, he simultaneously painted a second (smaller) painting during the same performance. It was an island sunset with a large parrot, in the spirit of the Jimmy Buffett Parrot Heads. Both paintings were immedieately auctioned upon completion of Greg's 15 minute performance, raising more than $3,000 for the Chamber.
 
Mar 6, 2010California Republican Assembly Convention at Knotts Resort Hotel, Buena Park, CAGreg performed his 'Facing the Music' painting at the California Republican Assembly Convention in Buena Park. He paint for a large group that included members of U.S. Congress, the California Legislature, Gubenatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner, plus other party leaders, candidates and CRA members. The completed portrait of President Ronald Reagan will hang in the Southern California offices of the Republican Party.
 
Feb 27, 2010Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Foundation GalaFebruary 2010 - Greg was commissioned by Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Foundation for the last of three consecutive annual paintings to commemorate the theme of their major annual event. As in each of the two prior years, this painting will was unveiled at their annual Black Tie Gala. The theme for this year's gala was 'Got Heart' which included a tribute to Loma Linda's own Dr. Bailey, marking the 25th anniversary of his first infant heart transplant, known around the World as Baby Fay. Greg's painting for this event depicted a group of children playing musical instruments in a very colorful and whimsical setting. He titled the painting: 'The Beat Goes On'.
 
Jan 29, 2010Los AngelesMusiCares Person of the Year. Greg's original portrait of legendary musician Neil Young was displayed and auctioned by invitation at this anniversary gala. MusiCares is a charity arm of the Grammy Foundation and raises funds for struggling musicians. The annual Person of the Year gala is a part of the Grammy Week celebration, preceding the Grammy Awards and is itself a star studded event that this year featured performances by Norah Jones, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others. This was the second consecutive year that Greg has created a portrait of the honoree. Last year it was Neil Diamond.
 
Jan 7, 2010Livw Webcast 8 P.M. to 9 P.M. WEBCAST- Greg presented his firt live, via the internet, video webcast from his studio during the January Arts Walk. During this one hour WebCast, Greg painted a demonstration painting and talked about his process. He will also shared announcements about upcoming events in the arts in Riverside.
 
Nov 24, 2009Riverside Convention CenterFestival of Trees. Greg was a guest judge for this annual event that raises hundreds of thousands $$ for the Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Designers create 50 uniquely decorated Christmas trees in 8 ft. square vignettes. These original creations are sponsored by local businesses and are judged in 9 different categories.
 
Nov 19, 2009B.B. King Concert, Coussoulis Arena, Cal State University, San BernardinoB.B. King concert. Greg performed at a concert, featuring legendary blues musician, B.B. King. Greg created a live performance painting of Mr. King on stage at this concert event. That painting was auctioned for a substantial sum with proceeds benefitting a scholarship fund. Greg also presented B.B. King with a studio portrait of the performer which Mr. King graciously accepted and even asked Greg to sign the painting for him. This painting was a thank you gift to the legend from the event promoter and Greg. Lastly, B.B. signed two giclee prints of Greg's painting to be retained by the University.
 
Nov 18, 2009Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, Loma Linda, CAArt Day at LLUCH. Greg led an art making activity with the kids to create a heart themed mural that will be displayed at the Hospital's annual fundraising gala in February 2010. Loma Linda Univ. Children's Hospital performs life saving miracles for children with severe ilnesses. Greg is honored to have the opportunity to perform his art for the kids and participate in making creative expression an important component of their healing path.

May 16, 2009Jefferson Transitional ProgramsMagic of Believing; Greg performed at this event to promote the Art Works program and gallery of Jefferson Transitional Programs(JTP). This event also recognized Greg for his nearly 20 years of service as a volunteer board member by presenting him with the innaugural Jeffrey Adams Award. The mistress of ceremonies for the evening was Mary Parks from KNBC Channel 4 News and the honorary chair will be Mike Gardener, Riverside City Councilman. JTP is a nonprofit organization that provides a number of programs for people who have a mental health diagnosis to empower them in their recovery. JTP recently opened its new Art Works center in Riverside that offers various programs of recovery through arts.
 
Apr 20, 2009City of Riverside - outdoor public art exhibitionRiverside Banner ARTventure - Greg's painting reproduced on 3 large outdoor banners to be displayed in Riverside through the Summer, 2009. Greg's banner art, titled Riverside's Legends of Song is a tribute to Etta James and Little Richard who have both called Riverside home. These legendary performers are a fitting subject for Greg's contribution to the exhibition, given the important influence of music in his own work. The original painting depicted in the banners will be auctioned at an event to be held at Riverside Art Museum on May 28, beginning at 6:00 PM.

Apr 5, 2009Loma Linda University Children's Hospital annual Gala at Riverside Convention CenterApril 5, 2009 Greg performed at the annual Gala for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital at Riverside Convention Center. The theme for this event was 'Miracles in the Marketplace'. Greg created two live performance paintings that celebrated the theme of children and a Moroccan Market. This Black Tie event raised more than $700,000 for the Hospital.

Feb 6, 2009Los Angeles Convention CenterFebruary 6, 2009 Neil Diamond Portrait- Greg's double portrait of Neil Diamond was auctioned at the MusiCares event honoring Neil as the Grammy Foundation's Person of the Year. MusiCares raises funds for struggling musicians. This annual event takes place two days before the Grammy awards and will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Nov 25, 2008November 25, 2008 Festival of Trees - Greg performed at the kickoff gala known as Mistletoe Magic. This elegant evening dinner and fundraiser was attended by 800 and raised a substantial amount of money to benefit the Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Greg performed on stage, painting a 6 foot portrait of John Lennon in just minutes, accompanied by a medley of Lennon's music. The finished painting was immediately auctioned and brought a handsome price that will benefit the hospital.

Oct 10, 2008October 10, 2008 Art @ The Heart of Dos Lagos. This was the 5th and final event in the monthly Summer/Fall series at which Greg performed on stage at the Amphitheater at Dos Lagos. In this case, Gred was accompanied by a live band that was performing Motown music hits. Greg completed four large canvases, each painted in just minutes to to the rhythm of the music, including portraits of creating portraits of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and James Brown.
 
Oct 5, 2008October 5, 2008 - 'Taste of the Towns'. Greg was commissioned by the Arthritis Foundation, Inland Empire Chapter to create an original painting for its 2008 celebration held at the Riverside Convention Center. This painting was unveiled at the event and was presented to the Riverside Mariott Hotel where it now hangs in the lobby at the entrance to Olios Restaurant. This painting was also reproduced in various print media, including a number of Gicles that were presented to the event's sponsors. Greg also performed at this event and painted large portraits of James Brown and Diana Ross. The theme of the event was Motown and entertainment included a Temptations tribute band. Greg created a special studio portrait of the late Melvin Franklin of the origial Temptations. This painting was also unveiled at the event and presented to Mr. Franklin's widow, Kim English who was the honored guest at the event.

Sep 20, 2008September 20, 2008 Portrait Presentation to Riverside's Mayor. Greg's studio portrait of Hon. Ronald Loveridge, Mayor of Riverside, CA was unveiled and presented to the Mayor at the Riverside Mayor's Ball. This portrait now hangs in the Mayor's Ceremonial Room, located on the 7th floor in City Hall.
 
Sep 20, 2008September 20, 2008 - Riverside Mayor's Ball: This year's theme was "From Bach to Rock". Greg chaired the decorations committee that transformed Riverside's White Park into celebration of music. Greg also performed at this event, painting large portraits of Elton John and Jimmi Hendrix. This event raises funds for the Riverside Arts Council.
 
Sep 1, 2008Through September, 2008 Artscape Exhibition at the County of Riverside Administrative Center. Four of Greg's large scale portraits of poplur music icons are featured in this six month exhibition. The unique aspect of this exhibit is that Greg painted these works on site to music as a performance on March 18 which kicked off the 2008 Artscape Exhibition. This performance was covered by media, including the Riverside Press Enterprise and KNBC. A short video presentation is available through the County of Riverside's web site. Aug 1, 2008August 2008 through February 1, 2009 (Reception was held Oct. 12, 2008)- Exhibit at Frankie's Steak and Seafood, Temecula, CA. This is perhaps Temecula's most upscale, elegant dinner venue. The restaurant was exquisitely designed to stage fine arts exhibits. Greg accepted an invitation to exhibit a number of large canvases with images of popular musicians, including Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Miles Davis, Diana Krall, Louis Armstrong and Ray Charles. Virtually all of the paintings were created specifically for this exhibit and range in size from 3'by 4' up to 5' by 6'. This exhibit will continue through January, 2009. Jul 11, 2008July 11, 2008 Art @ The Heart of Dos Lagos. This was the second installment of the monthly Summer series. Greg performed on stage at the Amphitheater at Dos Lagos during which he painted large canvases quickly, accompanied by a live band. The theme for the event was the 60's and Greg embraced that theme with live paintings of Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimmi Hendrix and Mick Jagger. The highlight of the evening was Greg's painting of Jimmi Hendrix which to the crowd's surprise, he painted upside down!
 
Jun 6, 2008National Veterans Art Competition: On June 6, 2008, Greg accepted an invitation to serve as juror for this national level judging of art works that have already won local competitions from across the nation. The artists are all military veterans who have been treated at VA medical centers in the U.S. Winners at this national level will be invited to the 2008 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival hosted by the Loma Linda VA Medical Center, October 20-26, at the Riverside Convention Center. Art is part of the VA recreational therapy program for our veterans who are recovering from disease or injury.
 
Mar 18, 2008Artscape: On March 18, 2008, Greg performed at the County of Riverside Administrative Center wherein he helped kick off the 2008 Artscape Exhibit. He painted to music in the ground floor atrium area and completed four large canvases with portraits of popular musicians during the four hour performance. The portraits will hang for the next six months as part of the exhibit in the atrium. The Administrative Center is located at 4080 Lemon Street, Riverside, CA 92501.
 
Mar 9, 2008Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Foundation: Greg was very honored to have been commissioned to create an original painting that was unveiled at the LLUCHF's annual black tie Gala on March 9, 2008. Greg's painting, which honors the hopeful imagination of children will hang in the Hospital's main lobby. High quality reproductions of the paintings will be given to major sponsors of the annual event. Reproductions will also be available for purchase by the pulic, with proceeds benefiting the Hospital.
 
Jan 24, 2008Mayor’s State Of The City Address and Luncheon: Greg painted a 3 ft. portrait of Riverside's Mayor, the Hon. Ronald Loveridge during this event at the Riverside Convention Center on January 24, 2008. This annual event is attended by more than a thousand local business leaders, government officials and other interested citizens. Riverside recently formally adopted "City of the Arts" as it's official theme. Greg was happy to participate in showcasing the vibrant local arts community.
 
Dec 14, 2007Art at the Heart of Dos Lagos: December 14, 21 and 28, 2007, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Greg painted on stage to live music at the Dos Lagos amphitheater. He completed two 6 ft. by 5 ft. portraits of familiar musicians during each of the three performances. Nov 1, 2007Exhibit: Sendai, Japan: In October and November, 2007, Greg was one of five artists selected by The Riverside Art Museum to join an exhibit of local artists' work that traveled to Sendai, Japan as part of a cultural exchange program. The International exhibit was displayed at the Sendai International Center.

Oct 11, 2007Exhibit: Mendocino, California: From October 11 to November 4, Greg was invited to participate in a month long show, titled: Exploring the Edges: Contemporary Works. This exhibit was at the historic Odd Fellow building in Mendocino village.
 
Aug 11, 2007AmericaSpeaks: On August 11, 2007, Greg was commissioned by AmericaSpeaks to create a live painting during a statewide, web-cast town hall meeting on healthcare reform, sponsored by CaliforniaSpeaks. Greg was asked to capture the spirit of the conference which was attended by 3500 people at 8 locations across California. Each location featured one artist and television cameras beamed images to all eight locations. Governor Schwarzenegger delivered the opening address for the conference. Over a 7 hour period, Greg created a 3ft. by 4ft. acrylic painting titled simply "California Speaks" which captured his impressions as he absorbed the surroundings, the energy, the dialogue and the spirit of those who attended this historic event. Jun 30, 2007Greg was guest judge for the Children's Chalk Art Contest at the Ready 2 Ride Expo in Banning, CA on June 30, 2007. This event was presented by the Banning Police Department and included a variety of events for families. The chalk art competition included three categories, Elementary, Middle School and High School. Great prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category, including DVD players and MP3 players.
 
Jun 1, 2007Magazine Feature: One of Greg's paintings and a caption regarding his working methods is featured in the June-July 2007 issue of The Palette Magazine. This is a quarterly national publication which serves as an instructional guide for artists.
 
May 19, 2007Fun With Chalk: On May 19th & 20th, Greg was sponsored by Union Bank of California at this annual event to help raise funds to benefit fine arts programs for children in Orange County, CA. The chalk event was held at the Norman Murray Community Center in Mission Viejo, CA. Over two days Greg painted a 12' x 10' chalk mural wherein he recreated a painting by the Italian master, Rossetti. Both the event and Greg's creation were real crowd pleasers. Apr 21, 2007The Feria De Abril: The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos inaugurated it’s signature event on April 21st, 2007. The Feria De Abril, a celebration of arts, music and food of life well lived. Feria De Abril is inspired by one of the grandest celebrations in Seville, Spain attended by local and visiting aristocracy since the 1800’s. The focus of The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos’ Feria De Abril was to offer an experience of art and showcase to upscale Southern California audiences the Inland Empire’s savoir vivre. Greg Adamson created one of his masterpieces, a reproduction of Spanish Masters’ art, in chalk, live on the center’s pavement, mesmerizing passers-by with the temporal beauty of the art of “I Madonnari”.
 
Mar 31, 2007Spanish Walk: Taylor Woodrow Homes featured Greg at the grand opening of the Esperanza home collection at Spanish Walk, an upscale community within the city of Palm Desert. On March 31st, 2007, Greg created a chalk painting on the asphalt, fashioned after one of the Spanish masters. Additionally, Greg created four individual chalk paintings, one for each home model that were featured on easels in front of the respective models.
 
Jan 25, 2007Mayor's State Of The City Address: Greg accepted an invitation to do a painting demonstration at this event at the Riverside Convention Center on January 25, 2007. In addition to the State of the City Address by Mayor Loveridge, this event showcased the local arts scene in keeping with the City's adopted theme of Riverside, City of the Arts.
 
Nov 1, 2006Festival of Trees: Greg Adamson volunteered his time and his 8’ x 8' painting on canvas to help raise money. Scheduled over five days during Thanksgiving week, 2006, the Festival of Trees has grown to attract over 20,000 people. Riverside County Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Festival of Trees is the only major fund-raiser benefiting the Pediatric units at the hospital. Proceeds each year are used to purchase desperately needed and often life saving equipment for the children’s units including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Child Abuse and Neglect Unit, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.Greg created the 8' x 8' painting on site during the last three days of the event. This was also the third time Greg has donated his time and talents to this event.
 
Oct 14, 2006Children’s Fund: Greg was asked to create an original painting commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Children's Fund. This organization has been serving the needs of 'at risk' children in San Bernardino County since 1986. In commemorating it's 20 years of service, the Children's Fund organized an Evening of Celebration on Oct. 14, 2006 at the new Cultural Center at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga. As a conclusion to the entertainment portion of the evening's program, Greg and the event chair, Debbie Brown unveiled Greg's original painting titled "Childhood Wonders". Additionally, each of the 800 guests in attendance received a limited edition, signed and numbered lithograph of the painting. The event was attended by business and community leaders, including County of San Bernardino Supervisors and the Mayor of San Bernardino. Greg donated the original painting which now hangs in the offices of Children's Fund in the San Bernardino County Administrative Center.
 
Sep 16, 2006Mayor's Ball: Greg Adamson chaired the decorating committee for The 2006 Mayors’ Ball in Riverside. The Riverside Arts Council’s annual fund gathering event, dedicated to providing support for their Community Arts Partnership (CAP) grants and other valuable programs. The title theme for this year's Mayor's Ball was 60's Mania. Accordingly, Greg and a group of artist's and volunteers, drew, cut, shaped and painted everything from cut-outs of flowers to 8' x 4' portraits on canvas of musicians from the 60's. After weeks of creative preparation, they had a day in which to transform Riverside's White Park into a full blown 60's scene, complete with a Hippy Lounge for the Sept. 16, 2006 event. Both the decorations and the event were a success, raising more than $50,000. Greg also serves on the Board of Directors for the Riverside Arts Council.

The Giant Orange Artventure: Greg was among the artists who were each selected and commissioned to paint one of 32 fiberglass oranges that were 4 1/2 ft. in diameter. The artist's each designed their own vision of the orange and submitted a concept sketch from which they created their vision. The artists had approximately four months to complete their projects, then the completed oranges were unveiled together at a kick off event in White Park on June 2, 2006. Thereafter they were installed at various outdoor locations throughout the downtown area where they remained on display throughout the summer. Upon conclusion of the exhibit, many of the giant oranges were retained by sponsors while a few were auctioned in October to raise additional funds. Altogether, this Summer long event raised more than $100,000 to benefit the Riverside Art Museum, making it the most successful fund-raising event in the Museum's history. Additionally, this event was the largest, quality outdoor-public art exhibition in the history of Riverside, spotlighting many of the best artists in the region.
 
Jun 1, 2006Artscape Exhibition: Greg had 5 paintings that were a juried exhibition on display at Riverside County Administrative Center located on Lemon in downtown Riverside from June 2006 through January 2007.
 
Jun 1, 2006Temecula Street Painting Festival: Greg was selected as the 'Featured Artist' for this annual event in June, 2006. This event featured artists' creations in chalk on the streets of Old Town Temecula and includes music, food and children's activities. This was the fifth year Greg had participated in the Temecula Street Painting Festival. His creation this year was a 9' x 9' mural of Victorian era women in a garden.
